Food is the first thing that comes to mind when I think of a road trip.
It seems like my brain thinks that the car is calorie free and it is not.
So preparation is the key to staying on track.
It needs to be easy, healthy and portable.
You never know what you will end up doing on a BOWEN FAMILY ROAD TRIP so you must be prepared for anything.
Here are some favorites that always go on a road trip:
almond crackers roasted red peppperspesto from our CSA share, gotta love a CSA share
macaroons these are a little to sweet but we still like thembrazil nuts
cheese sticks
amano chocolate water bottles…. glass of course always glass. energy squares, actually this is a new addition I found on twitter. I will see how they are.apples, grapes and strawberries are a must have.
homemade granola bars
and our favorite jerky maple walnuts are a must have
and a bag of peanut M&M’s. Here is the dumb thing. No one eats them.
We burned our kids out on them. But it is tradition and traditions die hard.
So that is all sounding pretty boring to me.
What do you pack on a road trip?
Give me some ideas………
I take a break from supplements while we trip. I figure it is nice to give my body a break every now and again.
This trip we are headed to Colorado to tour some green building sites and take a herb class.
We will be staying in a straw-bale bed and breakfast. How cool is that?
