re: the xylitol. I have candida (BAD!) i recently read that most commercial xylitol is made from corn. Pure xylitol is made from birchwood. I believe this product originated in Denmark and is used widely there..http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xylitol

I hope this helps the next you fancy a sugar craving other than fruit...There is also of course, 100% stevia. It's an acquired taste.

Love your blog!

Being from NZ, the holiday doesn't have all the emotioanl triggers for eating that it may have for others raised here. I did fine from that perspective. However, after brining a turkey for my family I felt inspired to create something more interesting for my dinner that day and I was sure glad I did.

I created a great dish over thanks giving on HCG that I thought others might like.
Ingredients:
100 grams Chicken sliced thinly
dash of cinnamon
sprinkle of dried sage
dash of dried rosemary
1/8 cup non fat, reduced sodium chicken stock
1-2 T raw onion
1/3 of large apple (the other two thirds you eat raw with the meal)

Simmer over a low heat till chicken is cooked and apple is soft. Arrange chicken on a plate in single layer close together. Put all the juices, apple, onion and herbs in a small blender like the Bullet and make a deliciously flavored apple sauce/gravey to pour over your chicken. Serve with the veg of your choice and the remaining 2/3 of a large apple. Over thanksgiving I enjoyed this festive dish several times and loved it!

karen,
I so feel a road trip coming on. That was simply the most amazing market. If I ever get the chance to be there again I will so look out for you. Will you be at the Soap Guild in 2011? If so, we can talk soap then.
hugs,

I sell soap at Granville Island Public Market. I don't make round soap as I am not fond of that shape either. Next time you are in Vancouver, drop by my booth. Look for Seashore Soap Co. I would love to talk soap!
