I've spent decades learning what it actually takes to heal a depleted body. And one of the hardest lessons I've had to learn — as a consumer long before I was ever a brand founder — is that most companies won't tell you where their ingredients come from.

Not the exact source. Not the testing results. Not the real numbers.

When I started sourcing magnesium for my own healing and eventually for this community, I made a promise to myself: we would never be that brand. You deserve to know exactly what you're putting on your skin, where it came from, and what's in it — down to the parts per million.

This page is that promise, kept.

 

The Zechstein Seabed — Northern Netherlands

Our magnesium chloride is sourced exclusively from the Zechstein Inside® deposit, located approximately 1,600 meters (nearly a mile) beneath the earth's surface in the Netherlands. This ancient seabed was sealed off from the surface world over 250 million years ago — long before modern industrial pollution, agricultural runoff, or environmental contamination existed.

The Zechstein source is widely regarded as one of the cleanest geological magnesium deposits on earth. Because it has been sealed underground for millennia, it has never been exposed to the kind of surface-level contaminants that affect other magnesium sources.

How It's Extracted

The brine is extracted using a process called solution mining — filtered water is introduced into the deposit, which dissolves the naturally occurring magnesium chloride. The resulting brine is brought to the surface, where it undergoes a purely physical purification process. No synthetic chemicals are used. No ionizing radiation. No nanotechnology. The magnesium arrives to us exactly as nature created it — just cleaned.

Who Produces It

Our brine is produced by Nedmag Industries Mining & Manufacturing B.V. in Veendam, the Netherlands, in accordance with the certified Zechstein Inside® batch protocol. It is distributed to us through Zechstein North America, with offices in Logan, Utah. Every batch is traceable from the mine to your door.

Full Chemical Composition — Topical Grade Brine

Below is the complete composition of our Zechstein Inside® brine, exactly as documented on the official product datasheet. No mystery ingredients. No 'proprietary blends.'

The remaining trace minerals (iron, bromide, and others) are naturally occurring in the deposit at negligible levels. They are documented in full in our batch-specific Certificate of Origin, available for download below.

What Our Magnesium Does NOT Contain

The following has been confirmed by Zechstein Minerals BV and independently assessed by the Magnesium Health Institute (Safety Evaluation ZMB/MHISE01112025, November 2025):

✓  Synthetic pharmaceutical compounds

✓  Substances prohibited on the WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) list

✓  Poisonous agents

✓  Nano or micro plastic particles

✓  Carcinogenic or mutagenic ingredients — No California Proposition 65 warning required

The substance magnesium chloride is exempted from REACH registration under Annex V of Regulation (EC) 1907/2006 — meaning it has been assessed at the European regulatory level and determined not to require chemical safety reporting. That's a meaningful designation.

 

Batch-Specific Testing — December 2025

The table below reflects actual test results from Batch 05 B 25 (December 2025), as documented in our Certificate of Origin issued by Zechstein Minerals BV and signed by Ir. D. Janse. These are not industry averages or theoretical limits. These are our numbers.

Margin of Safety (MoS) for topical skin application: >100. This means the safe exposure threshold is more than 100 times greater than typical daily usage (5–10 sprays, 1–2 grams per application). This calculation was independently verified by the Magnesium Health Institute.

 

Assessed by the Magnesium Health Institute

Our brine has been independently evaluated by the Magnesium Health Institute (MHI), Groningen, The Netherlands — a specialized body focused exclusively on magnesium research, clinical applications, and product safety assessment. The safety evaluation was conducted by R. M. Danel, MD, chair of MHI since 2009.

Key Findings from the Safety Evaluation (November 2025):

✓  Product is safe to be marketed as a topical cosmetic ingredient

✓  No undesirable effects are known under normal conditions of use

✓  Microbiological quality: no microbial growth due to hyper-salinity — no preservatives needed

✓  Impurities and trace elements: negligible

✓  Over 7.5 million kilograms sold since 2006 with zero registered safety-related claims

✓  Complies with EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009, updated through 2025–2026

✓  No nanomaterials, preservatives, fragrances, UV-filters, or regulated cosmetic substances present
