My Favorite DIY Adrenal Drink

An imperfect but powerful part of my morning routine

Let’s talk strong morning routines—and how to achieve them imperfectly.

This morning, what’s in my cup is a little different. I mixed up my electrolytes, and I’m loving it. So I wanted to share it with you—because we know that electrolytes help create voltage at the cellular level.

And when you have voltage, your body holds onto the magnesium you’ve soaked in more efficiently.

This drink isn’t perfect. It’s not measured to the exact teaspoon. But it’s filled with the minerals that support me. And it’s delicious.


What’s In My Drink

Here’s what I added today:

  • About 1 cup filtered water

  • About ½ cup mineral water (I wish I loved this stuff. I don’t. It gags me.)

  • About ½ cup Harmless Harvest coconut water

  • Juice from maybe 1½ oranges (I started with two and ate half of one)

  • A squeeze of lemon

  • A squeeze of lime

  • Pinch of Baja Gold sea salt (mine today was a French salt I brought back from France)

  • ½ teaspoon cream of tartar for extra potassium

  • The tiniest bit of stevia—just enough to soften the mineral water taste

I stirred it together in a 24-ounce glass and sipped. And I’ve got to tell you—even with the mineral water—it’s delicious. I’m already halfway through my second glass, and it’s only 9am.


Why This Matters

Electrolytes help your body generate voltage. And voltage is what allows your cells to better hold onto the magnesium you've soaked in.

Magnesium, potassium, and salt create that voltage. And that’s why I love this drink—it supports what I’m already doing with soaking in Magnesium Soak. It’s one of the simplest ways I know to set myself up for a strong day.


Why I Drink It at 10am and 2pm

Your adrenals are naturally more receptive around 10am and 2pm, and those are the times I aim to sip on this drink.

When you give your body what it needs at the time it needs it most, it can respond better. That’s one of those little timing things that can make a big difference—without adding more to your plate.


How I Track Potassium

I don’t rely on blood tests to measure potassium. Did you know how they put the tourniquet on your arm can change the results?

So instead, I keep track of how much potassium-rich food and drink I’m taking in. I pay attention—especially when my stress is higher. And I use things like coconut water, cream of tartar, and whole foods to support that.

If broccoli stops tasting sweet to me, that’s my little clue that something is off. My body’s always talking to me—I just try to listen.


Why I Pair This with Magnesium Soak

Soaking in Magnesium Soak is how I fill the tank. But my goal isn’t to soak every single day—it’s to maximize each soak.

A Few Variations I Love

Depending on what I have on hand—or what I’m craving—I’ll switch things up. Here are a few other combos I love:

Adrenal Creamsicle

  • ½ cup fresh orange juice

  • 2 TBSP coconut milk or heavy cream

  • 1–2 TBSP collagen

  • ¼ tsp cream of tartar

  • ¼ tsp Baja Salt sea salt

Creamsicle Variation

  • ½ cup orange juice

  • 1 tsp powdered coconut water

  • ½ tsp Baja Gold sea salt

  • 1–2 TBSP collagen

Chia Hydration Boost

  • 8–12 oz water

  • 1 tsp–1 TBSP chia seeds

  • Pinch of baking soda

  • ¼ tsp Baja Gold sea salt

  • Juice from ½ lemon or lime

The Real Win? Imperfect Action

This drink was thrown together. I didn’t perfectly measure the oranges. I didn’t time it all out. But it’s filled with what my body needs.

And that’s the point.

Healthy women don’t wait for Monday. They take imperfect action every day.
